Swine Flu Fear Mongering From The Corporate And Alternative Media Has Been Insane

The amount of fear mongering coming from the government, the mainstream corporate controlled media and the so called alternative media surrounding the swine flu outbreak has been completely insane. Cable news outlets have shown pictures and video of people wearing surgical masks and providing around the clock news reports on the swine flu to fuel fear in the minds of people around the world. Despite the fact that there are estimates of 36,000 people dying from the regular flu virus on a year to year basis in the United States and as of this report only around 19 deaths associated with the swine flu in Mexico, common sense has not prevailed and the promotion of swine flu fear continues. Thus far there are only 286 confirmed cases of the swine flu and one confirmed death associated with the swine flu in the United States. That death is associated with a toddler that came here from Mexico. Although it is of definite concern that the swine flu appears to be an engineered viral outbreak considering that it is a strange cocktail mix of strains taken from human flu, the bird flu and swine flu, there have been and continue to be wild claims within the alternative research community that this will result in total martial law and that the virus is actually far worse than it is with no real proof or evidence to back it up.
Whenever the government and mainstream corporate controlled media promote fear, it is usually a hoax. The war on terror is a perfect example considering that the official stories of all major terrorist attacks in the past decade including the 9/11 attacks and the 7/7 London bombings are extremely questionable. So when the media keeps showing pictures and videos of people running around wearing surgical masks with barely any confirmed cases of the swine flu in the United States, one can easily draw the conclusion that the establishment is trying to promote fear to further a particular agenda.
Even Vice President Joe Biden was sent out on NBC’s Today Show to hype the fear in what appears to have been a staged media appearance by stating that he wouldn’t let his family members travel via public transportation due to the swine flu. This appears to have been an obvious attempt to scare people and give credibility to the threat of swine flu which up until now has been minimal.
Although the fear mongering from the government and mainstream corporate controlled media has been off the charts, some of the most insanely rabid scare tactics has come from radio host and film maker Alex Jones.
Jones has a track record of spreading fear over the airwaves dating back to his infamous December 31st 1999 Y2K radio transmissions when he promoted the idea that the Russians were invading the United States. The Russians never invaded and it was all made up. It is true that much of the information Jones talks about on his show is verifiable, but the irrational and out of control fear mongering he promotes is the equivalent of placing a piece of animal crap in a party’s punch bowl.
Last week, Jones hi-jacked the April 29th 2009 InfoWarrior radio program (Hour 1, Hour 2, Hour 3 | Pertinent Audio and my analysis) hosted by film producer Jason Bermas claiming that the government was threatening and attacking his web sites due to swine flu information that they posted. Specifically he went on to talk about a memo provided to him by an Administrator from the Austin Independent School District stating that the swine flu was far worse than anything the media or the government was saying. Jones specifically believed that the reason why his site was attacked was because of that memo. He went on to claim that this document which as far as we can tell has yet to be re-posted on his web site stated that we were actually at a level 6 virus pandemic and that the swine flu was far worse than what was being claimed through official channels. He would also go on to say that the level 6 classification meant that we’d have a scenario like the movies 28 Days Later or I Am Legend which both depict a massive virus outbreak that kill/infect large quantities of people. Throughout the show Jones and some of his guests would continue to hype this information claiming that it would result in martial law. Even when the idea of it being a hoax was brought up by Steve Quayle who was a guest on the show, Jones acknowledged that it was a possibility but quickly dismissed it and went on to read the memo which claimed that the virus was made to spread quickly, that hospitals across the country would be overwhelmed and that there were 10 to 25 times more cases than what was being reported in the corporate media. He even went on to say that Mexico City was under total martial law without any real proof or sources to back it up.
The vast majority of the show was dedicated to Jones hyping how the swine flu virus was much worse than the government or the mainstream corporate media was saying. Even when Quayle moved the discussion to focus on how it might be a hoax, it was used to promote and completely over hype the fear of imminent martial law, forced vaccinations and how the government is going to kill us.
None of this has happened yet and now Jones is claiming that he was saying that the swine flu scare was a hoax all along when that is simply not true. Jones had even stated on one of his previous radio programs that billions of people were going to die as a result of a wide scale bio-weapon attack not as speculation but as a fact.
Jones also had Dr. Len Horowitz on as a guest a couple of times on his show last week for so-called expert commentary on the swine flu. Horowitz is a man who has been criticized by many as actually being a member of the Knights of Malta otherwise known as the Knights Hospitaller. In fact, a news release on his web site proudly states that he was given the title "Knight of Merit" from members associated with this order. There are even pictures on Horowitz’s web site showing him posing with individuals wearing pieces of clothing with a giant Maltese Cross on them. The Maltese Cross is a symbol of the Knights of Malta which to this day is an organization considered to be a sovereign military force for the Vatican. The Vatican is essentially a cult hiding behind the Christian religion while many members have been caught engaging in pedophilia, homosexuality and other bizarre forms of sexual behavior. There is also another strangely placed picture of Horowitz posing with an owl on his web site. The owl is a symbol associated with the ancient Roman goddess of Minerva. It is quite possible that these pictures are some sort of inside joke between Horowitz and his insider buddies. It is funny that Jones would give a man like this any credibility what so ever, but he was sold to the listening audience as a credible expert.
With an increasing number of reports stating that the swine flu scare was vastly over-blown, it is obvious that all of this fear mongering was entirely unwarranted and designed to make the alternative research community look ridiculous. This is not to say that we shouldn’t be concerned about this, as it is possible that they could use the swine flu scare to socially engineer the public for any number of dark scenarios. However, over hyping the threat and scaring people about martial law and other outcomes just makes us all look like a bunch of lunatics which appears to be the point behind this type of reporting. The bottom line is that there is something terribly wrong when people in the alternative research community particularly those with a track record of this type of scare mongering are spreading more fear than the government and the media. It is obvious that the swine flu scare has been vastly over blown on all levels.
