The much anticipated one hour Glenn Beck interview with Ron Paul aired last night on CNN Headline News. The interview was 90% fair and 10% bizarre. For the most part Glenn Beck a former alcoholic and drug addict conducted a fair interview asking Dr. Paul legitimate questions on a wide range of issues. They discussed loss of national sovereignty, the New World Order, the abolishment of the IRS, elimination of the income tax, the problems with the economy, the North American Union, the wrongly imprisoned border agents and more. Beck gave Dr. Paul plenty of time to respond to his questions. There were however some strange points in the interview which left many people scratching their heads. When Dr. Paul gave his stance on the income tax and the IRS, Beck said that he wanted to french kiss Dr. Paul. Beck later in the interview claimed that supporters of Dr. Paul were threatening his life and that he needed to wear body armor and have a SWAT team to protect him. This is despite the fact that Beck provided no evidence to the viewing audience that supporters of Dr. Paul were threatening his life. He also desperately attempted to attach Dr. Paul’s presidential campaign to 9/11 conspiracies as part of a ploy to associate his campaign of freedom and liberty with something that is not part of his platform. In the aftermath of the Beck interview, the media assault on Dr. Paul's presidential campaign has continued today with an Associated Press article that attempts to link Dr. Paul with white supremacists.
Glenn Beck had already associated Ron Paul supporters with homegrown terrorism so this assertion although as bizarre as it is of him claiming that he is being threatened with death by Dr. Paul's supporters wasn’t entirely unexpected. Had Beck shown evidence of these so called death threats to the viewing audience he would have at least maintained some credibility. Instead, Beck chose to hide this supposed clip from the viewing audience instead deciding only to show it to Dr. Paul. Until Beck comes clean and goes public with this so called evidence, it is safe to assume that Beck is being dishonest about these death threats.
As crazy as Beck's rantings of death threats is, they become all the more insane when a couple of years ago he called for Michael Moore's death on his radio program. So apparently in Beck's world it is OK to threaten Michael Moore with death but when somebody supposedly does the same to him than its a problem. A clip of Beck ranting about how Michael Moore should be killed is shown below. The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
The purpose of Beck bringing up the issue of 9/11 conspiracies was a clear cut case of him attempting to divide the vast support that Dr. Paul has. It was also an attempt to get Dr. Paul to say something that could be used as a sound byte on all the establishment corporate controlled networks. Beck clearly sought to create a Howard Dean type moment that would be used to discredit Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul holds the position that there should be a new independent investigation into 9/11 to get to the bottom of the government incompetence that allowed these attacks to happen. This is a fair assessment considering that nobody was held accountable or fired for what happened that day. Beck asked Dr. Paul about different conspiracy theories about 9/11 that may or may not be true as part of an effort to get Dr. Paul to say something on 9/11 that the establishment cronies in the media would use against him. The media has actively gone after a wide array of public figures who have questioned the events of 9/11 and it is obvious that Beck sought to do the same thing to Dr. Paul even though 9/11 conspiracies are not part of his platform.
The corporate controlled media continues to turn the American electoral process into a circus. Even though 90% of Beck's interview with Dr. Paul was fair, the underhanded tactics and bizarre antics by Beck were uncalled for. When Beck has interviewed other presidential candidates, he did not break out the bag of dirty tricks. So why all of a sudden does Beck break out the bag of dirty tricks during Dr. Paul's interview? The media is supposed to be a neutral observer but instead they continue to show their bias against the few presidential candidates who are running on anti-establishment platforms like Dr. Paul.
