Fox Debate Was Establishment Propaganda

Last night’s Republican presidential debate was one of the most sickening and disgusting displays yet. Fox News which uses the slogan “Fair and Balanced” ran the most unfair, unbalanced and slanted presidential debates in U.S. history. The moderators asked questions specifically directed at presidential candidate Ron Paul that were obviously crafted to make him look bad. The debate looked like something out of George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984. They even allowed the discredited Frank Luntz to air another staged and scripted focus group. Fox News has sunk to a new low in journalistic integrity and the GOP should start pulling any support from presidential debates put on by Fox News.

Let’s break down some of the debate’s lowlights. Carl Cameron, one of the debate moderators for Fox News asked Dr. Paul if he were electable when he is the only true conservative running on the Republican ticket. Bloggers have reported that they did not re-air that question in the replay of the debate probably because they realized how ridiculous it made them look. It is funny that they didn’t ask Fred Thompson or Rudy Giuliani about their electability considering they haven’t faired any better than Dr. Paul in the first two states. Dr. Paul was also asked about how some of his supporters believe 9/11 was an inside job in an obvious attempt to slander his character and divide support in his base. As dirty as these questions were, it would have at least been fair if they asked similar questions to other candidates. Of course, the debate moderators didn’t bother to ask John McCain about the Keating Five scandal or ask Rudy Giuliani about how he let 9/11 rescue workers breathe in the toxic dust around the debris of the Twin Towers. The moderators were clearly trying to make Dr. Paul look bad and they showed incredible bias in their attempts to do so. Fortunately, their attempts backfired and Dr. Paul made Fox News look like a propaganda ministry instead of a news gathering organization. He was much more aggressive towards the moderators and the other candidates in this debate and did a very good job countering their ridiculous smear attempts.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Frank Luntz an admitted propagandist who has already been caught planting the same person in two of his previous debate focus groups, ran another focus group last night in which the vast majority of the group agreed that Fred Thompson had the best debate performance. Statistically it is impossible for this to be a random focus group considering the text message poll asking viewers who won the debate showed Dr. Paul with well over 30% of the vote. Not to mention, the people in the focus group delivered answers that looked obviously scripted and rehearsed. At one point Luntz even said “I’m going to make your bosses nervous” when he asked the group if Dr. Paul should have been included in the debate. Why would Luntz make such a statement? Did the focus group consist of Fox News employees? Clearly, the focus group is there only to provide a skewed and distorted view of reality to the viewer. Luntz even aired a segment claiming that Dr. Paul’s response to the speedboat incident in the Straits of Hormuz received the lowest rating ever from any candidate yet. What’s funny is that the figures on the graph actually started moving down before Dr. Paul even started saying anything of substance. It was completely staged. Watch some of the video from the focus group below and judge for yourself.

Dr. Paul declined to participate in a post-debate interview with Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes and who can really blame him. Fox News has no journalistic integrity and they should be ashamed of themselves for turning the American electoral process into a circus. Dr. Paul had already been smeared by The New Republic, CNN and MSNBC over content in one of his newsletters written by another person dating back several years that contained supposedly racist remarks. It is funny that the next money bomb event for his campaign is slated to be on MLK day and that he has received tremendous support from the African American community yet they try to paint him as a racist. It is a ridiculous assertion and shows how far the mass media complex is stretching to make him look bad.

The establishment is deathly scared of Dr. Paul and it is exactly why they are pulling out all the stops to derail his campaign. They realize a Paul administration will end the unholy marriage between big government and the military industrial complex and the media has been drafted to pull out all the dirty tricks to make him look bad.
